Stop screwing up America!

Life in the Fast Lane:::::

I realize I have neglected my blog for quite a while.  Well life has been completely hectic with the move and all.  I apologize.

Stephen and I are setled back into to life in Hometown, USA. (aka. Carmel).  Its nice to be back. There are so many things I miss about Boston, but you just can’t beat comming home.

I miss no children in church, I miss no mosquitos, I miss taking the T, I miss my Friends, I miss Comcast Cable, and I miss my View.  But I am slowly getting used to not having that. It will take some time to adjust, but I leave for Michigan soon.  I am just in this place right now where I don’t feel like there is a place I belong, sort of homeless.

School-

As I am sure you all know by now, I am going to Andrews University in Michigan to finish my schooling.  I have just a few classes left before starting my Masters.  It is located 2 1/2 hours north on US 31.  So it is closer… not close… but closer.  I have a roommate, Catie Wolfer (i think), won’t that be a blast! ha, I am not looking forward to it, but its the way life goes.  I do my best to make the most out of every situation. Thats all you can do.  They say ‘experience is what happens when things don’t go the way you want’.  Well I am one of the most experienced people I know.  But things are finally falling into place, I am happy with where life is headed and I can’t wait for what is next.

Carmel-

One of my best friends from High School is moving back really soon! I am super excited about that. And I finally have the time to see everyone I have missed for the last 3 years.  All my peeps from CHS, SLDM, 4H, ICC, CRC and the works…

Stephen-

Stephen is doing well.  His transfer from Boston to Indianapolis feel through, he ended up with a really crappy deal.  Fortunately we have made the most of it and he recently secured an awesome new job.  He is back working as a Mechanic and loving it, Its great pay, a great commission, and a great group of guys.  He really enjoyed his first day and it was nice to see him happy with the way things are going, there for a few weeks he was working his crappy transfer job, and I really felt awful for him.

He is still planning on joining the Army in the next couple Months.  He continues to loose weight.  He isn’t getting a lot of support here at home, and it has taken its toll.  His weight loss rate has slowed substantially but any progress is progress.  I always celebrate the little victories in life, and this is no different.  If you get a chance to say a prayer for him he could really use it.  Life is a little difficult right now, but he is making the best of the situation he has been dealt.  Thats all anyone can ask for.  He knows I love and support him no matter what, and we will make it through this together like we always have.

He just joined the Knights of Columbus at church, and really enjoyed getting to know that group of guys, and is in the process of joining the Masonic lodge that his grandpa belonged to.  Its another goal he has had for a while that he can cross off of his list.  He loves getting out and socializing with people, and I am not that kind of person really.  So this is great for him, I can’t go (I don’t really want to) and he gets to network with other men from all over central Indiana.  He is really excited about it, and I love that it is working out.

Expect 2 more blogs from me right away… more specific.  I will re-join my Alphabet series as well.

Later Ya’ll-

C is for Colleges

So I have made my decision.  I will be going to Andrews University.  They keep throwing money at me?!  It wasn’t my first choice, I heard back from The Illinois Institute of Technology finally!  The accepted me and offered me a smaller scholarship.  I was going to accept until I got to the part of the letter about class placement.  First Year, Second Semester.  WTF!  I know I won’t have a large amount of transfer credits, since the BAC is messed up, but 3 classes?  I have already spend 4 years in school.  I was not about to spend 5 and 1/2 more!  So I decided on Andrews.  Except for IIT I don’t really care where I end up.  Andrews is offering me the best program placement and the most amount of money.  That seals the deal.  I have yet to hear back from Ball State, but I doubt even they can match what Andrews is offering.  Between scholarships and Financial aid I am being given $8000 more than tuition costs.  Which means I can afford to take extra classes.  You all know I love that!

B is for Boston.

obviously.\

Ugh I am so going to miss Boston.  I love it here.  It is one of my favorite cities.  It hasn’t been able to top Chicago or New York, but its in there at a very close number 3.

But my time here has come to a close.  As I reflect on the last three years I wouldn’t change I thing.  My friends here are incredible. A, J, L, N, J, D, G, B, K, C, E, N, A, and countless others. You guys know who you are.  Big hugs all around.  I am really going to miss you guys.  And don’t forget to keep your eye out for wedding invitations!  You will not be forgotten.

But its time to start a new chapter in my life.  One with Stephen, the Army, A new School, and a whole lot of potential.

Tootles Boston.  You will be missed.

Burberry, and Rodeo Drive Boston Style!

So Newbury St. is referred to as the Rodeo Drive of Boston.  And rightfully so.  It has a lot of overpriced, high end stores.  But mixed in are these amazing boutiques and family run places.

 Firestone and Parsons:: Antique Jewelry Store.  This is where Stephen picked up my engagement ring.  He paid more than we were looking to spend (mostly because of its “rodeo drive” location) but its the perfect ring.  Well worth the extra dough.

Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Polo, and Ralph Lauren Sport:: All three are on Newbury St.  I LOVE RL! for anyone who doesn’t know… I get things there every now and then, but the good stuff is out of my price range, for now…

Any way you get the point.  Also on Newbury St. Is a Burberry store.

Now I had heard of Burberry before, and Stephen’s little sister feels about Burberry the way I do about Ralph Lauren and Coach. (at least that’s what one would gather).

So we wandered in to the Burberry store today.  WOW!!! its like a Coach/Ralph Lauren hybrid!?  Can you say heaven?  Thanks Brittany.  I never would have gone IN the store, but you peeked my curiosity with your Burberry Myspace.

I fell in love with this bag::

And this Jacket::

Too bad I don’t have $3000!!!!  I would have bought both in a heart beat.

I freaked out when I bought my $650 coach bag?!!!  and $650 is nothing compared to $3000.  What I wouldn’t give to be rich!
